Consider This....Adopting a Dog

 ❤️Adopting and not shopping...


I'm fully aware that adopting isn't always easy or possible...it's not as straight forward as people might let you think. But it's definitely something to keep an open mind about. I'd highly recommend using this as a first choice option like many people including myself did on thier search for a new forever friend... but found that they were not eligible because of having other pets...or children or not quite the right premises for a certain dog they were applying for etc.


Sometimes we don't always meet the requirements for adopting a dog...and that's nothing to feel bad about. You're still allowed to promote adopting not shopping and you should! even if you went down the route of getting a puppy regardless and it doesn't mean you're not a great dog owner. 


Looking into small local rescue centres or breed specific rescue centres can be a great way to find your perfect match. If you're having no luck with the bigger well known rescue centres.

The reality

I feel like this important to share with people. Having a breeder who is council licenced does not mean shit.  Nor does having KC registered parents.  It all depends what your opinion on what makes a good breeder is.  My idea, is that all dogs owned should be  family pets and be living comfortably in the main home, no female dog mum's should be sold or 'sent to a retirement home' after being bred from. This to me shows a business ethic...not a love for animals. I don't agree with having a high turnover of puppies with as little maitainance of the pups parents as possible.  I have know many bad breeders and breeders linked to puppy farms that are council registered and have KC parents.  The fact is...KC registered is the pedigree bloodline of the parents...it's heritage...and just because a dog is KC registered by no means makes them healthier. And it also means that the breeder has applied and paid for the dogs to be registered because they are a pure breed...
