The reality

I feel like this important to share with people. Having a breeder who is council licenced does not mean shit.
Nor does having KC registered parents.

It all depends what your opinion on what makes a good breeder is.

My idea, is that all dogs owned should be  family pets and be living comfortably in the main home, no female dog mum's should be sold or 'sent to a retirement home' after being bred from. This to me shows a business ethic...not a love for animals. I don't agree with having a high turnover of puppies with as little maitainance of the pups parents as possible.

I have know many bad breeders and breeders linked to puppy farms that are council registered and have KC parents.

The fact is...KC registered is the pedigree bloodline of the parents...it's heritage...and just because a dog is KC registered by no means makes them healthier. And it also means that the breeder has applied and paid for the dogs to be registered because they are a pure breed...that is it. It does not automatically mean you are buying from a breeder who treats their dogs and puppies with the utmost care and responsibility. It does not mean they are loved. Nor does Kennel club assured...it just means that they have applied to have a spot check done on the premises where the puppies are registered...but we all should know by now...that the real home of the puppies or where they originally came from...could be somewhere very different and not a home environment at all.

Council liscenced is also a complete cover to hide behind. The council do not have proper practices to look into the ethics of dog breeding...they are there on a preliminary basis only. They do not go on case by case situations and look into the depths of each breeder operating...they are becoming part of the problem because people seem to believe that if a breeder is council registered they are safe from being something dodgy...not true at all. If you look into detail about the license of these breeders you'll find out how many breeding bitches they have...so that nice little home you visited and got to see mum and puppies and mum's paper work saying she's KC registered and maybe you even got to see the dad...could actually have 10....20...50 registered breeding bitches...so where were those mum's when you visited?
