The reality

I feel like this important to share with people. Having a breeder who is council licenced does not mean shit.  Nor does having KC registered parents.  It all depends what your opinion on what makes a good breeder is.  My idea, is that all dogs owned should be  family pets and be living comfortably in the main home, no female dog mum's should be sold or 'sent to a retirement home' after being bred from. This to me shows a business ethic...not a love for animals. I don't agree with having a high turnover of puppies with as little maitainance of the pups parents as possible.  I have know many bad breeders and breeders linked to puppy farms that are council registered and have KC parents.  The fact is...KC registered is the pedigree bloodline of the parents...it's heritage...and just because a dog is KC registered by no means makes them healthier. And it also means that the breeder has applied and paid for the dogs to be registered because they are a pure breed...

The fear factor.

When I first decided to start promoting ethical breeding on social media...I had no idea at how amazing the response would be from people who felt exactly the same as I did.  Unfortunately, the flip side is...that for every person who supports...they'll be the ones that try to silence people like me who are trying to spread the truth about how these companies operate.  In the first few days after sharing information about puppy farming I received several messages from accounts with the last name Smith...these people are known to be associated with puppy farming and the information surrounding this is easily found with a bit of digging on the internet.  After my first hand experience with the type of people running these places. I know that they are masters at using manipulation and fear tactics.  A lot of the messages I was being sent were trying to outline that I was harming business by spreading lies and that there may be legal repercussions. Defamation of ch...

Online evidence

These are some of the things I found when researching Capella Cockapoos/Willow park kennels/Cremdella kennels/ Ella’s kennels The owners at the time were Mrs. Lisa.S.Taylor also known as Lisa Amy Smith  and Mr. Charles Edward Taylor  Please take the time to look at every link...some may not seem much on their own but look at all the evidence as a whole and it is truly scary. https://sites.google.com/site/puppyalert/ https://www.puppylovecampaigns.org/cases/busters-story-suffolk/ https://www.ilovemycockapoo.com/threads/capella-cockapoos.88273/ https://www.freeads.co.uk/uk/buy-sell/pets/dogs/cockapoo/26651647/capella-cockapoos---waiting-list-for-puppies-ready-december/view https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/08254109/officers https://commercialsaleofpuppies.wordpress.com/2017/01/01/east-of-england/ http://www.checkcompany.co.uk/director/7933992/MR-CHARLES-EDWARD-TAYLOR https://www.thesun.co.uk/archives/news/1002847/filthy-cramped-disease-ridden-ins...

My Story.

In 2015 I started my search for a puppy, I had reached the right time in my life and I was incredibly excited...actually that’s a major understatement. At the time... a show type cocker spaniel was what breed I had my heart set on. I had known a few friends over the years who had them as family pets, I had looked into their requirements as a breed and my mind was set. I went online and searched spaniel puppies for sale, the first results were the website Pets4Homes. I had an idea of what I would want from a puppy and a breeder. I knew I wanted to see both parents if possible, but definitely mum. I knew what colour coat I preferred and that I wanted a little boy. And I knew I wanted both mum and dad to be KC registered. I went through all the adds and I picked out the ones who matched ...and messaged them. The first person who messaged me back was a lady called Lisa. S. She told me that I was welcome to come view the puppies with mum and they owned dad too. She asked me a few ques...

No judgment just Re-education

I don't have all the answers...no one does. I know I still have a lot to learn and understand about this. I was guilty of making a lot of the above mistakes with my first time round looking, I won't always be right with my suspicions or ideas. But at the moment these disgusting sorry excuse for breeders have the upper hand...and it's about time we try to turn the tables, even if it's with little puppy steps.  I think sometimes we are conditioned to not question things. There are laws, there are breeders that are keeping to them...but does that mean all of those breeders are good people who show love to every animal they own as much as they should? No. And I hate the idea of that. There are always ways around the law unfortunately and things often are let slip through the net.  Not everyone will agree with my opinion on these things. And I respect that. Some people will be thinking, well you already have a puppy so it’s alright for you, which yes to some extent I agree...

What can you do to help?

💔 If you feel there's even a tiny chance you may have already bought a puppy from an unethical breeder. Please don't recommend them.  BUT don't feel embarrassed, don't feel ashamed, do not hide your experience...share it if you feel confident enough to. Don't look at your puppy any different. Don't give up on them. They are yours for life now and they love you a lot.  You are not the first and you won't be the last to fall into this trap. It is not you who should feel guilty.  🤦 If you've already recommended them... don't feel bad. These people are incredibly smart, organised and they play on decent peoples emotions.  But now's your chance...This can be corrected and stopped from spreading further.

The Hunt for an ethical breeder

⚠️ Research thoroughly into red flags of unethical breeders. Sometimes when we think of puppy farms we think of those horrible pictures shown on TV programmes or in the newspapers...but that's never what you will see when searching online or going to view puppies. Well...sometimes it is...but these big player breeders have a lot of excess money to put back into thier business... Did you know you can pay to remove content from the internet that's bad for your business?  These people will go to any lengths to hide any kind of truth from behind the scenes...something I personally look out for is...if they always have puppies available... sometimes this is difficult to figure out because of potentially thousands of people on thier waiting list...but this is not a good thing.  They are charging more for 'rare' or desirable colours ... or they send the mum to a nice 'retirement home' after puppies are sold... these are some minor things that are small warning signs....
